Mr. C Beverly Hotels was the first of now three hotel properties in the Mr. C Hotel collection. Born in June 2011, Mr. C Beverly Hills set a precedent for luxury, service, and style that its sister properties in Sea Port, New York and Coconut Grove Miami, Florida follow to a T.
This sexy and successful hotel brand was founded by two members of the internationally recognized Cipriani family, Maggio and Ignazio Cipriani. Celebrated for their contributions to the luxury hospitality space, the Ciprianis own restaurants, lounges, and hotels throughout Europe and the United States, including Casa Cipriani in New York City.
The white exterior of Mr. C Beverly is illuminated at night with glowing blue lighting that plays with the shadows of the surrounding palm trees.
Inside, the walls that enclose the lobby and bar are solid rosewood- rich and warm. Eames lounge chairs, marble floors, and deep green upholstered sofas emanate a soft, sophisticated masculinity. The backlit bar is lined with leather chairs. It's the old-world decor, wine and cocktail selection, and the company of the attentive bar staff that make it possible to spend several hours in this atmosphere without realizing.
Guest rooms are either appointed with caramel or white furnishings. Their private terraces provide the potential for a romantic evening and an expansive view of the hills (hello, Instagram!). Expect to sleep soundly. The bed is firm and the pillows are soft. Suites sell fast at Mr. C Beverly Hills, so if you were planning to book one and it is unavailable, ask for a "Premium Beverly Hills View". The Premium rooms are located on the top floors (6-11) and offer the best views of Beverly Hills.
Mr. C Beverly Hills is part of the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts Collection, which means, those experienced travelers who hold an Amex Platinum Card can take advantage of such perks as the $100 credit to use at the restaurant, bar, or other hotel amenity, a $60 breakfast credit for two, and more (apply for an Amex Platinum here).
If you're a room service addict, don't miss out at Mr. C Beverly Hills. Take your tray out on the terrace or snuggle up in bed. The banana pancakes are heavenly, fluffy, and topped with powdered sugar. The avocado toast is light on the toast and heavy on the avocado, topped with radishes and goat cheese.
For another in-hotel culinary experience, go downstairs and visit the Mr. C Restaurant. Open seven days a week from morning to night, travelers and Angelenos enjoy its authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant features, among others, a selection of grilled specialties, crudo ‘alla Veneziana’, savory pizzas and risotto as well as classic Cipriani dishes like the signature Carpaccio and baked tagliolini. Allow me to personally suggest starting with the Steak Tartare alla Cipriani and the baby artichoke and avocado salad with shaved parmesan. As someone who has ordered her fair share of steak tartare throughout Paris, I can safely say the steak tartare at Mr. C Restaurant is unquestionably superior. As far as pasta goes, if you're with a group, order a few and share. Recommendations: the tagliardi with black truffle, risotto with porcini mushrooms, and spaghetti al pesto.
The hotel boasts a 4,500 square-foot luxury pool area that features teak decking with poolside bar and dining options and pool attendant. Relax the day away on one of the day beds or rent a cabana.
With such attention to quality and detail, it's no wonder that four generations ago, in 1931, the Cipriani family started with one restaurant in Venice, Italy, Harry's Bar, and eventually became a world renowned hospitality brand recognized for its distinguished venues and service all over the world. The simple luxury and discreet, personalized attentiveness that Mr. C Beverly Hills provides surely builds loyalty among its guests.
