Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York City

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

Modern clean rooms with stunning views of the Lower East Side of Manhattan-- even in the grey of winter, Hotel Indigo is a happy hotel. My friends and I stayed at Hotel Indigo during the first snow of the season in New York City, which made for a beautiful glistening morning surprise outside our large windows.

The lobby is not located on the ground floor, which is confusing only at first. The lobby is decorated with large sculpture art and there is a small convenient Wi-fi equipped café that serves tea, coffee, and snacks throughout the day. The stairs in the lobby lead to one of my favorite New York City hangs, Mr. Purple.

We were fortunate enough to meet Christopher White, Sales Director of Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, who has over fifteen years of experience in hospitality and is smiling and gracious. Christopher secured reservations for us at Mr. Purple.

I'm not really much of a club-goer. I prefer spots where I can hear my friends speak. If that's you too, you'll also like Mr. Purple. The space is filled with a mix of hotel guests traveling from business from all over the country-- you might even run into someone from your home town in the midwest (I did) and local New Yorkers who know about the scene. And even though I wouldn't describe it as loud, the club does fill up quickly and even on weekdays in the bitter cold, there is sometimes a wait to get in. However, it's worth the wait because you're sure to meet some cool folks in this energizing hotel and club.

Ask about the penthouse suites. They're enormous and the views are to-die-for.
